Proverbs 2; Verses 8-13; God's Protection; Raising Discernment

(Proverbs 2:8-13) 8He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth (keep guard, protect) the way of his saints (set aside/sanctified).

The paths of judgment. Meaning right from wrong, hence protecting on that path. (now some would say who are to judge? True Christians never ask that nonsense. If you been saved from the depths of hell in living in and dying in sin. As they say, "don't get it twisted." True Christians want to be corrected according to God's Word.

Which down in verse 12, froward, that is exactly what it means. Twisted and perverse.

To verse 9,

9Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

(Remember, the subject from the previous study is about going for them hidden treasures of the world through lust of the flesh. Hence, stopping that path and beginning the true path. Then we will see you can begin to make righteous judgment. Not judging by the things one has made their own God. Which begins with serving-self as one's own god. Therefore, stopping at nothing and selling out because of judging wrong, no fairness. No doubt, Solomon dealt with the mentality, "life isn't fair." No complaining if you are a contributor).

When one judges by the things of the world to what they serve it is an automatic abomination to God. This of course, double standards. Maybe triple if there is 3 people here for a pyramid scheme.

(Proverbs 17:15-16) "He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

(Complete backwards. What a bloody mess? Because of the own heart, blood on their hands).
So it was for Christ what He took to have salvation and repentance from this horror show.

16Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it"?

To verse 10,

10When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

(Here is why. The mentality, and no heart. Let it penetrate, sink in. Digging deep as one would them treasures. Would not many keep digging even if them treasures were 666 feet deep? To the inner core of the earth if someone told them there was a treasure there. Likewise, the blood, sweat, and tears you put into Learn God's Word and ways).

This is a great self-check. Is God's Word, learning His ways more pleasant than things of the world? If the answer is no, then that should tell you what you need. But continue to struggle, why? Heart issue.

11Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

(We're doing just that, discretion. Discretion here means plans of hope. No hope in them things of the world before God. Understanding the resulting actions, cause and effect in what would have one go back to the ways of the world. Now the world's "whooping boy", in heart and mind).

12To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

(To stay off that "beaten" path. The blows of the world. That is why Christ took the blows/stripes, flogging for us taking it for us as punishment.

13Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness."

(To the ways of the world they go. Forsaking God, and of course saying my faith is struggling).

AMEN
