Matthew 19; Verses 27-29; Receiving & Shipping; Paying it Forward

(Matthew 19:27-29) "Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

Continuing on in Matthew 19. A short little study here, with much. Then to the next chapter.

Now this question comes after who can be saved (refer to last study), and having to unpack/unload ill-gotten gains (likened to shipping and receiving, in that order (the camel through the eye of the needle, entering into a city back then). Hence, the rich man. Showing how hard a thing it is to get over to get into Heaven, and that people force their way in, before salvation. The concept Christ always taught, doing it on and by our own accord. Through our own works.

28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration (this is rejuvenation; meaning the Millennium, to eternity through and through, the first resurrection to the second one) when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Revelation 20:4, hence the sitting upon the thrones in the Millennium. There with the others of God's elect they are doing the judging. Those of true Israel, remember song of Moses now? Our enemies being judges? Here is that transfer. And they have their reward. The judging is of course done through God's law, as they followed it, and now it comes through them, as priests as well there. Let's look:

Verses 4-6 "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

All explained above. But these are talking about the last 2,000 years. Different groups of people, in their time. Hence, Christ also explaining 2,000 years ago the future to the Disciples He knew they would not see having died in the flesh. Though He explained He did not know the day or hour--24 hour time period while He was here on earth. We know He knew it would not be the Disciples generation. As the parable of the fig tree had to be fulfilled as well.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."

Okay, moving on--to verse 29,

29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life."

(Physical family. From the Greek this means for Jesus Christ and to put them second. Naturally so, as we cannot do the second commandment in the royal law first. That is works based/self-justification (saying you don't God first, and to carry them things out), and putting the cart before the horse. Which is why everything begins with The LORD to carry on that relationship to others. Everything learned from The LORD to carry that onto others. Of course, trying or doing commandment two first one has received nothing from The LORD, hence the receiving here and immeasurable Christ is saying. They are and would be serving these things. Once again, hence the rich man and what he did. He did not follow commandment one, as he thought, and was self-justifying himself. Okay, we'll leave that there on that point).
(Matthew 22:36-40) "Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38This is the first and great commandment.

39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

Now let's look at the direct similarity in belief attitude, from the rich man to this pharisee Scripture lawyer, twister.

(Matthew 22:34-35) "But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

35Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying."

Overall, the difference is the rich man did not come to try and trip Christ up. But, both did come to self-justify themselves, and what did they both call Jesus? Master/Lord. Obviously, in vain. Therefore, not doing that commandment through the royal law as well (Y)

Amen.

Matthew 19; Verses 16-26; The Rich Young Man

(Matthew 19:16-26) "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep (tend to/guard by observing) the commandments.

(Christ corrects him here. Not knowing what he is saying. He is saying Jesus is God only in a roundabout way is the point. This man will be in idolatry as we see. So the point will be he cannot even be keeping these commandments. Notice Christ gives the commandments towards people. The last 5 commandments (with exclusion of honour thy father and thy mother, but to do is putting God first. Honour--means respect them in giving birth, and simple care, having respect. Thus, self-respect), which is why Christ gives the conclusion in the second commandment of the royal, in verse 19). Note: below for this Christ will give honour thy father and mother last. This is quite amazing how He did this.

18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder (6), Thou shalt not commit adultery (7), Thou shalt not steal (8), Thou shalt not bear false witness (9),

(Notice 7 is adultery. This correlates with staying a wise spiritual virgin (for their husband) and being resurrected at the 7th trumpet, to the Marriage Supper of the lamb).

6 correlates in the mark of the beast. at the 6th seal, 6th trumpet, and 6th vial. Where satan claims to be Christ/God. What do you see in Revelation 17? Blood all over babylon, the old heifer with spiritual blood all over her, bathing in it with no shame. They of course are foolish virgins, they think.

19Honour thy father and thy mother (5): and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

(So he thinks. Also thinking in error that godliness was mean to gain inherently).

21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect (complete), go and sell that thou hast (unload that load), and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me (serving Christ)

(Here we have it. Where his treasures were, as he was in idolatry. Not even keeping commandment 1 and 2 of the Ten commandments. Break one, break them all--start back at one. Because we broke commandment 1. Just that simple). We're talking ill-gotten gains. Of course, what you worship teaches you right from wrong, your morals, and you judge by them, and people by them and through them. There will be NO heaven, if that is the case).

Reference: (Matthew 6:19-21) "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

(Matthew 6:24) "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

To verse 22:

22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions."

(Notice. 10th commandment, here it is coveting. It could not be denied, and he just could not get over himself and it. The lusts of the flesh because he was in idolatry ALL along).

(His world just fell apart. Crushed to pieces in the wrong way. Worldly sorrow, to depression. No Hope).

23Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

(Both sides here. whether they play religion or not. Doing it all playing religion very hard to see it, pride is a deep thing. Thinking one done it one's self).

24And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Not a sewing needle. But, "The eye of the needle", but to "thread the needle", making it into Heaven one would have to unload all the "baggage" the camel carries to fit them through the small door into the city. Then forcing them through. Sometimes the rich need a good push (w/encouragement) to get moving.

In the just like..Reference Matthew 7:12-14,

12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets."

13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

Verse 25,

25When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."

(Conclusion: With man no one. I hope we see the point. All the way to commandment 10 he did not do as seen. Because commandment one he did not do, because as taught EVERYWHERE in God's Word we cannot keep the law to be saved. He needed to be saved. Hence come and follow me, serving Christ, he/you automatically keep the law. As Christ fulfilled and kept the law, being the sinless sacrifice).

AMEN.
