Matthew 14; Verses 1-12; Betrayal and Blackmail

Thank you for taking a look †

(Matthew 14:1-11) "At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

(Because all the news had spread. Everyone likes a scene as well, excitement. This is not Herod, they called "the great." The one who tried to have Christ murdered as a babe. Tetrarch means 1/4, as Herod split the governing land for his sons).

2And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

John the Baptist already beheaded, so we're go into the story why here.

(This is why happens when you mess with God's people. He is being tortured here. We later see in the next post he was sorry, but did it anyway. So knew better but no backbone, a typical sell out. This is coming to haunt him, he is no exception. But at belief and repentance he could of began to be healed. No more haunting).

3For Herod had laid hold (seize) on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.

(Who's sake? Another person to gain in an unjust cause. Not righteousness sake. Some leader with no backbone, sell out).

4For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.

(Of course, Herod being ruler and the ultimate overseer of the law of the land would take great offense to this. Law on top of law from these government crooks destroying the family foundation, then say their hands our clean. Twisted souls like this should not be judging anything. As verse 9 he was sorry, but then because he held his oath, his word counted then. Well, of course it did with selfish ambition on top of bribery and blackmail. All to "get" and keep the girl in selfish lust).

5And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet."

(Many knew John was from God. But with sell out dictators in charge and dirty double dealings the lusts of the flesh take over. Live by the flesh and be tortured by the flesh. Way it is, way it's going be. Such is the way of these fake leaders, they do live in fear because of this. Never fear a sell out. They live in their own "haunted house." The righteous are as bold as a lion. It is them who better get with it).

6But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.

(Birthday boy, and we do mean boy. Power of seduction here. A little dance in exchange. Herod with no morals it is quite obvious he wanted her too. She had of known and used this to get what she wanted).

7Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

(This is what happens when you make law on top of law. Seemingly here he is forced to make a moral decision based on immoral. Keeping his word to feel better and self-justify self. To them he can say, "I'm a man of my word." While being the scum of the earth).

8And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.

(Right there on a platter. We got some real sicko's here. Great girl)?

9And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

(Explained above).

10And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.

11And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.

(Damsel in distress alright now. Pure wicked rotten evil. This also what happens when the parents have no morals and backbone. The kids make the decisions. Give in for their favorite gift here. You see moral corrupt politicians you think this is beyond them? Nothing is beyond them when the thirst for power from the sell out mentality and wicked heart before salvation. Whatever situation they are presented for their gain at the moment they will sell out too. Such is the their way. Proverbs 1:10-19. That can end today, believe and repent).

12And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus."

(Pretty sad sight here. Though John the Baptist was taken to a better place, and His reward in Heaven. And so it was).
