Matthew 13; Verses 53-58; (Continued Rejection of Christ)

Thank you for taking a look †

(Matthew 13:53-58) "And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

(Finished teaching to the Disciples specific. They understood them, let's see why).

54And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

(Back to Nazareth and surrounding areas. And here comes as stupid is, as stupid does. Way it is. Notice once again, "their synagogue." As the kenites had set up shop and had the influence in the north country as well. That is what happens when they control the central location such as the temple in Jerusalem then flowing outward. Christ and the disciples always made the point to disassociate with them. As they are of the synagogue of satan. Have you read it? Revelation 2:9; 3:9).

What are they asking here? Where did this Jesus get this know-how and miraculous powers? You can be sure the thought and twist coming was that he was performing some kind of "magic." As we had previously studied in the last chapter they accused Him with the works of satan. Lying scripture twisters.

55Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

Checking out his background, then they say we judge righteous! Wrong from the get-go. Had they known Scripture they would know Christ was born of the virgin, the Messiah was to be born of a virgin, "Immanuel God with us", Isaiah 7:14. Scholars aye? Seriously? Should of been an easy Scripture. No, Christ is not Joseph' son.

So, they were looking at the physical to make a spiritual judgment. That is what happens when all you see is the flesh. You cannot be pleased. It would not matter where Christ' upbringings were rooted in, or who He associated with.

56And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

(Why this? Because the way Christ taught. He taught the spiritual through the daily practical physical things in life that each sex would do. So, we see here judging all people under the same "cloth." But yet every individual will cry mercy on the day of judgment, the irony).

57And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Why? Overall the failure of the first two commandments. Righteously judging. Meaning right from wrong. Not to judge to hell, or lake of fire. No actually, when you hold someone past sins over their heads you are judging them to hell. The LORD has forgiven but you do not? Who do you think you are? Very shameful. The cross ain't good enough for you?

(Fair and balanced)

Offended is skandalizō from the Greek. Where the word scandalous comes from. Take a look at these wicked rotten haters to the core and Scripture twisters. Where we have already shown the simplest of Scriptures flew over their head. The only scandal were these drama queens walking around and everyone is a drama queen. Can't win either way, damned if you do, damned if you don't.  A deeper look into the word is they were shameful of Him.  You see why Christ always referred to the blessed not being ashamed of Him. No shame exists in belief and repentance. The shame is not doing so, the shame is calling one self a Christian and playing the game.

Prophet = teacher. No honor in His immediate surroundings, we know His blood  (minus Joseph) family later came around. But we're in error early on. Honor = Respected, highly regarded. That comes with the failure to judge/discern correctly.

"The have's, and the have-nots", physically speaking.

One of the human conditions before salvation here. That is the judging a person by the physical and finding guilt then shame in them because of it (that is very shameful). Think lower of them. They must of done something wrong? Or in vice versa, the more well of per say, they must have got there by lying, cheating, and stealing. God despises guilt by association. Everyone will cry mercy individually on the day of judgment, But no cry foul if you did not give it. They of course will look for blame. Always someone else fault, their own sin.

Yet, many say don't use people for what can you get out of them, but do the very same thing because they live by the lusts of the flesh.

(Romans 2:1-4) "Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

2But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

(Condemnation still lies on them because of these things).

3And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
Who do you think you are?

4Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

From the point above. Do you despise saving faith from the cross? Rhetorical questions to look at self. This is naturally going to happen here in the end-times. Many have learned the Gospel wrong, and more bitter than before. We have to put up with you. Way it is, way it's going to be. It's not you if you a conscience towards repentance, and not seared (burned, as in gone). Want to feel correctly? Begin at belief/repentance. Right from wrong, the senses in the mind, then one can feel correctly according to the way the Lord does, Godly sorrow.

We'll finish it off where Paul points out we have a person who thinks they are special.

To Romans 2:11,

(Romans 2:11) "For there is no respect of persons with God."

Get off your high horse, you might as well get on the 4 horseman with satan (doing and bidding his work). This goes also with the point in showing respect of persons in what one can get, and then get out of people. Our will is to match God's Will. We should be striving to get growing in holiness out of people after salvation. Salvation good will towards people. Don't have that in want in saving faith towards them, you do not have it yourself. Let's get the right Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reference:

(Matthew 11:5-6) "The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

6And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me."

Moving on,

Many say Jesus, but for this cause He could walk right in front of them passing by and they would not recognize Him. A lot to learn here. Everyone cries for a peaceful world, but do you have compassion, mercy, from the forgiveness of sins? Then only able to judge right from wrong correctly. As it is some who think they are elect need to go back to square one or repent to salvation in the first place. Way it is, way it's going to be.

58And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief."

(Why was that? Unbelief. Everything begins at belief, life begins at belief in our Father though Christ. As we always point out, they would not have believe it anyway because of their standard. They want to see God on the outside, but do not have Him in the inside. Therefore, they see what they want to see).

I will never be ashamed of Christ and the cross. For that is the power of the Lord. The power of the Lord beginning at saving faith.

(Romans 1:16-17) "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just (the righteous) shall live by faith."

(It's written up and down).

Every Christian should of been or going through this process above. It is called growing.
The previous 6 verses James taught the same as above as Christ then Paul. Because this is the process.

To the book of James, the exact same:

(James 2:7-12) "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

(Getting over yourself. Lower one's self in heart and mind, stature).

8Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

(They say God, but blood on their hands, because of their heart then mind. Which lead James to the royal law of course, the two commandments as we referenced).

9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

(Instead of lifting one's self up over Him, and then others. Then you will even know how to build others up. Like knowing, "come here from sick em." Point is double-mindedness leads to backwards. Because of the heart).

11Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

(They cause discord, they are babe killers. These would think they are planting seed while stepping on it. They are speaking against God).

12There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

By doing all this they have made themselves judge, and lawgiver. First of all declaring that their own judgment is righteous. They have determined right from wrong, in their self-proclaimed wrath they determine the punishment and execution. This is like sitting in a courtroom THE JUDGE says go free, gavel struck but they object. THE JUDGE says overruled, they keep going on. Learn some respect.

These type you see as well are only around when, "the good times are a rolling." They are in it for the wrong reasons, no sincerity. Overall, every person wants this, but does not give it. "Do unto other as you want them done to yourself."

So after, Christ taught about judging, cleaning one's self act at the cross, asking, searching, knocking submitting to God, not self. He concluded,

(Matthew 7:12) "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets."

You want it, then must give it. But then cry foul when not giving it. Then the next 2 verses, the narrow path because of these things. The life of a Christian is not dependent on other doing it first, then saying we will get it then. Make the step. Everything hinges on it.

Amen †
