Matthew 6; Verses 9-13; The Lord's Prayer

How do we pray and why?
Thank you for taking a look †

"The Lord's Prayer"

Christ taught us how to pray. Do we pray to anyone other than Father? No. Christ is our intercessor, to even approach the Father, and approach the Father through Christ.

(Matthew 6:9-13) "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

(Christ tells us the order in which praying ought to be done. Hallowed = Consecrating Him--setting apart, lifting Him up high above all and everything He created. A sign of submitting and the absence of pride. Remember, we're following Christ, His mission and goal was to please to the Father).

10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

(We are to look forward to Christ' coming for the Millennium, then the eternity. Thy will be done on Earth, His Word came from Heaven. The testimony of the covenant that is Christ. If we're not even attempting His will on Earth, they can forget about Heaven. His will begins with relationship with Him, keeping His law, thus being in His will automatically. Whatever He may have individually for a person they will find that out through relationship with Him).

11Give us this day our daily bread.

(The word of God that sustains us throughout the day. Unleavened bread of course. But bread all in all high Carbs = energy production. And all other vitamins and minerals for growth. Including iron, and iron sharpens iron. You can't do much with a rusted out dull piece of iron just sitting there. As we also have to eat His body (life, Word of God), and drink His blood (the cross)--taking it in, digesting it and absorbing all nutrients and expelling all toxins. Otherwise, garbage in, garbage out).

12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

(Our individual sin debt to God. We always deal with God first. As the Lord clears us, we clear them. Overall, we should want the forgiveness of sins for them too. If we cannot show them how it's done we're certainly defeating our own wanted purposes. Very self-defeating, and self-refuting. Not only do we say we're can-do type people, our actions must match our words i.e. what we say we believe).

13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."

Calling on the Father for that protection. The point here is to pray that it does not even get that far. Deliverer = our rescuer. What this does not mean, God sends malicious evil to lure us into do evil (definitions from the Greek). Obviously so, He wants to rescue us. We'll put it this way, you don't throw someone in the sea (such as Babylon) then say let me come save from you drowning. No you put yourself in there, then say come save me).

(Kind of like here in the end-times God extending a life preserver for satan's flood of lies coming. let's not consider satan to be tempting, but the abomination that makes desolate that He is. Let's face it, the guy is cold-hearted, cold-blooded murderer. He thinks he will have a kingdom. only because he is allowed to do so. The Kingdom belongs to the Lord).

Thy Kingdom come,

(Revelation 11:15) "The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Amen. †
