Matthew 14; Verses 13-21; Feeding of the 5,000 +

Thank you for taking a look †

(Matthew 14:13-21) "When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

(Hearing of the death of innocent John the Baptist, along with disciples we could understand some alone time here. However, this shows even that those who want to follow Christ anytime He will not turn then away. Key here is they followed Him, sticking better than glue here).

14And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

That being so, the first act--Compassion. We know is the result of the mercy, the release from judgment. Compassion towards those lost and hungry spiritually and physically for God's Word causes one to make a move. Can you imagine had Christ said no here?

15And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

(Because nothing can be found to eat here. This showing Christ can do the seemingly impossible to possible and then done to those who believe and follow.  The evening came, darkness with the famine. But Christ showing those who trusted and stuck with Him, they got fed. We need to have that trust not go in the world to buy and sell, the one world system, one world currency in the world's darkest hour to come).

(Case in point. Right here the Disciples learned you do not turn away those who want to follow Christ, and for the right reasons here. These people did not know fish sandwiches were coming here. That point being seen it was evening, no food to be seen for this day. Go and buy today's catch. Christ in one of the greatest miracles of all time about to show there is plenty of fish in and on the land).

16But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

Turns no one away those that come in sincerity. Now remember as well they were here in sincerity at this time. John the Baptist had just been beheaded so following Christ was now a very dangerous thing here. They are rebelling (lack of a better term) from the government.

17And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

(5 = grace in Scripture. 2 = a double witness, a testimony. Christ showing the impossible with man here. satan cannot do this, but what satan can do when he comes to be "breadwinner" to the poor is give lying promises. We see this now by governments making money appear where it is not. Someone has to pay for it eventually. Both together add up 7, always symbolic for completion/perfection).

18He said, Bring them hither to me.

19And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
(An example of being servants of and for Christ. Showing us why we bless the food recognizing where it came from. Blessing our bodies both spiritually and physically).

20And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

(This showing the excess in abundance. The number twelve always represents government perfection. Christ is showing an example of Isaiah 9. As the Disciples will sit on the 12 thrones at Christ' second coming).

References:

(Isaiah 9:6) "Of the increase (excess, abundance) of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."

(Matthew 19:27-28) "Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

(Revelation 20:4-5) "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

To Matthew 14:21,

21And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children."
(This would boost the number up to 20,000 by the "law" of averages. No matter what during the tribulation and the famine there will always be enough to feed an army, the Lord's Army).
Amen †
