Proverbs 27; Verse 9; The Sweetest Thing

(Proverbs 27:9) "Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel."

(Everyone really likes great smelling cologne/perfume. It attracts. Instantly hitting the senses, and the countenance goes up. Like a Euphoric feeling that gives a good sense of well-being).

So here we see the distinction as to what God's Word should do in the immeasurably more. Bringing hope and purpose, "pep to the step." from the inside out. Counsel (in it or at the end of it, a way out) from God's Word that leaves no hope and purpose is not counsel (but misery through condemnation).

And that person should NOT be speaking in God's name. For starters, not pure because we have good will towards people in sincerity. For example, a miserable counselor/counsel would be saying you are in sin without showing them a way out but leaving them to condemnation, no hope. No way out of it through God's Word. The moment you lose good will for whomsoever will bitterness will result. The lamp has gone out, wormwood.

God using this distinction as that smell comes and goes like a feeling. But eternal purpose through His Word remains and remains within forever. That great sense of well-being that results. Amen

The word hearty from the Hebrew is an interesting meaning. Pure from passionate emotion through faith. All heart. And of course, when we something done in sincerity we say, "oh, how sweet."

Yes, it surely is.

Many say, I want to raise my discernment.
