Matthew 15; Verses 10-20; Serving Religion/Flesh and Hypocrisy

Thank you for taking a look.

(Matthew 15:10-20) "And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
Understanding = The path here and all the reasoning for it.

(Christ called everyone to hear this. Here very important. This is so important to the law we follow first spiritual, and not judge by the physical first. Which of course, condemns everyone around, tries to that this. When you have silly religious so-called leaders making things up).

11Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

(What were we talking about here? From the previous 9 verses some dirt on the hands. Because of this failure to judge correctly, the blood was literally and spiritually on the hands of these pharisees of course. Pharisees are pharisee kenites. But what makes on in action is religion that makes the standard of judging right from wrong to what they make up, this is idolatry. Putting the physical first is always idolatry. The created thing gets worshiped over the creator. Because they made all the commandments to none effect by not following number one. Break one, break them all. Keep number one, and keep them all. Of course, we have to learn what them are and realize we do not and cannot even come close without Christ our savior then Lord).

We see they were living by the flesh and not the spirit. When that is done comes the rest of living by the flesh. Christ will go for the root and the planting here in a couple verses. The origin. This is how important it is to have the correct Gospel and correct doctrine. The very source, the very foundation. Determining how we grow from there.

(So, here if you don't wash your hands up to par as far as the pharisees concerned you're guilty of sin. They are an abomination. I really want to stress this. After guilt comes shame. Essentially, they want you to feel shame from what they make up. It is okay to have standards, but don't make it matter of guilt and shame making someone feel lower than what they are. Book of James is a great example. One comes in poorer than dirt and make them feel less than what they are already? This is horrible, they already know where they stand. No playing church).

12Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

13But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

(You got it, Christ is saying o'well here. Now time to listen up false teachers. By offended it means they were accusing Christ of enticing people to sin)!

These are your drama queens. Double standards which you cannot please them putting burdens on people. They can never be happy (blessed). Pretty simple, start knocking it off today and now. Whatever causes you to sin get rid of it. Change the mind about after opening up the heart, receiving, and not bitter against the LORD.

(Matthew 11:25-30) "At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes (new Christians, do you see it)?

26Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

(He's sees it. Do you see it? He is pleased with it. Christ is illustrating this point once again because these pharisee and types you cannot please no matter what. But it is pleasing to the Lord you doing right).

27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

(The will of God as illustrated in this study. How to be in His will).

28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Remember that word labour below. To grow weary, tired. This includes living by flesh and feeling. Why we live by faith. Feelings first will always be fear. The world in darkness, like being in a dark tunnel and trying to feel your way around. What kind of confidence can come of that?

29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

(The heart again, beginning with the heart).

30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

(Matthew 23:4) "For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers."

(The shoulder where we are to be yoked to Christ have that rest. Like carrying around that 180lb monkey on your back. Enjoy the freedom that is in Christ and that weight of the world lifted off your shoulders).

To the contrary, God's real Word,

(Proverbs 7:3 "Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart."

(Amazing, then we can be a finger lifter actually helping people).

(Matthew 23:13) "But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in."

The word skandalizō from the Greek is where we get the word scandalous. Drama queens indeed always involved in sandal. My way or the highway types, goodie two shoes know it all's. You want the Gospel shoes of peace of mind, not the goodie two shoes. The Gospel shoes them priceless shoes anyone can afford).

(Christ also using the plant reference here. We have photosynthesis here. Not a bitter plant is the point from bitter soil. Not able to open up and receive. You see that you know it's the work and power of the Lord in a person).

To Matthew 15:14,

14Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

(You follow these and their teachings, it's like them covering up a path with brush to cover that hole up to the unsuspecting. Fall in and you have lions (fakes claiming tribe of Judah, Jew), leopards (prey, stalkers), and bears (travel great distance "feet" in any condition Matthew 23. Quick look, The animal characteristics there. Point is being eaten alive spiritually speaking and not knowing it. This is a very sad thing).

A ditch digger is always a grave digger. Stumbling blocks.

15Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
(This is how huge it is. A second explanation. Like the parable of the wheat and tares back in Matthew 13).

16And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
(You don't know the path either? Understanding is intellectually seeing the path in prudence here. Christ using this as why the ditch reference was just used). That is always so, your spirit is the intellect of your soul. With the Holy Spirit coming to us giving that intellect of reasoning).

17Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

It's not a matter of salvation. Look to what is relevant. Put things in their proper order here. Key here is Christ did get on them. I'm saying this because how do you handle correction through God and His Word? Christ a bit hard on them here but they wanted to learn more is the key. Going back to the plant reference again, growing, the want to grow.

18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Defile = unclean as in sin.

(The origin, the mouth is the spokesperson of the heart. What a person believes show their condition. The fruit shows the tree).

19For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

(The motives, whether wanted or from actually physically carrying them out. The want changes at the heart then we do for Christ. The motivation for doing so).

The words from the Greek in meaning here; Evil = bad in nature, condition resulting in trouble and labours, remember reference above from Matthew 11. Scandalous drama indeed. No peace here. Thoughts here means reasoning. This is why Christ poses rhetorical questions to look at our reasoning. What is our motivation.

The rest here are all dealing with the motivation of the heart, and not the physical at. What Christ is saying it don't matter if you don't do the physical at, but the want to do with them. This is why the law is not our overseer and Christians do right not for the sake of just doing right, but the motivation for our Father through Christ. Just as Christ the relentless ambition to carry out the Father's will for us-ward first.

Speaking of the work of Christ and the new covenant. As Christ is teaching all this from Isaiah as it is:

(Isaiah 55:7-8) "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

(Just in that order again. Righteousness the condition acceptable to God, the heart then the mind. The mind follows the heart, our motivation. Pardon = being released, from forgiveness. No longer a prisoner. Payment from the blood of the cross).

8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."
(Before salvation. We are not and cannot be in God's Will. We cannot please Him, we cannot even come close without our motivation being Christ' work from the cross).

20These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man."

(That's what does it).

Amen
