A little longer study here covering a lot of ground. But touching many angles to get that picture to help :)
(Revelation 11:11-14) "And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
(So the two witnesses are murdered in the streets of Jerusalem, in the arena. Basically, put on the big "stage" for all the world to see. Notice their resurrection? 3-1/2 days? That's for all the neighsayers who say Christ did not resurrect. So vile are these and adamant that satan is Christ/God here they want to prove there is no resurrection. That satan is the resurrection and the life. The two witnesses were not even allowed a proper burial. This fear is one of a heart-sinking fear, like sudden terror. As their world comes a crashing down right in their face. Like watching teenagers get caught throwing a party the parents come and it comes to a sudden halt. Oops).
12And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
(Standing there dumbfounded now. Certainly up in arms what do I do now? They ascend just as Christ ascended).
(Acts 1:8-9) "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
(The Gospel to beginning from within out to the rest of the world. To preached to all nations then the end will come. Christ always referencing both of His comings).
9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight."
(That is the power they deny here in the perilous end-times (the Holy Spirit). All around truth, but cannot get to it. Why? Using God's Word one verse here, one verse there. II Timothy 3:1-7).
13And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
(The same day, within the literal hour here. Tenth always symbolic for tithe. As they were giving gifts after the two witnesses killed think they are doing God a favor. They are buying their salvation through satan as he owns them. They give God glory, but it's not repentance. It is them moments we see in the Bible like a Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Herod, Obama, recognize God not by faith, but by what they see. Which of course quickly goes without changing the heart and mind and having God on the inside of you. Why the Kingdom of Heaven begins within. You wouldn't believe it anyway. You won't see God on the outside if He is not on the inside. So this is short-lived as it comes out of fear like the same as the example above).
(Remember back in verse 1. The measuring of the spiritual temple. An amazing parallel here is Nehemiah chapters 11 and 12 for a further study).
14The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly."
(The end of the 6th trumpet. The 7th trumpet is next. How quick? 3-1/2 days as stated. The woe trumpets = 5, 6, and 7).
Let's go deeper in the chronological order of events here.
Now remember we're in the 5th vial here. After the plagues/vials 2, 3, and 4 directly paralleling the plagues of Egypt. The 9th plague was also darkness as the 5th vial is (both second to last). Likewise, the last plague in Egypt to that of the 7th trumpet and 7th vial, as the day of the Lord is darkness all over the land. The Lord gathers them back to Him, the cloud of witnesses and they are passed over from God's wrath. What else? Just like Christ comes at the midnight cry at the 7th trumpet. We have the same in Exodus.

(Exodus 12:29-30) "And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
30And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead."
But let's see what they rejected, the priests and satan's false prophets. Remember satan claims to be God in the temple of God = himself. The lamb of God, the savior of the world (Revelation 13:11).
(Exodus 29:39-41) "The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even:
40And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering.
(Exodus 29:2) "And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them."
Back to Exodus 29:41,
41And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
(Everything they rejected for sin. The true lamb of God. The sacrifice that is Christ. Oil = The Holy Spirit, the lamps have gone out. Drink offering = the blood of Christ).
(John 6:54-56) "Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
55For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him."
This is why it's written at the 6th trumpet for taking the mark of the beast:
The foolish virgins who lamps went out, and at the midnight cry from above we'll see.
(Joel 1:8) "Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth."
(Matthew 25:6-8) "And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out."
(I Thessalonians 4:16) "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout (cry, cry out), with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:"
(The midnight cry, 7th trumpet and Christ' coming they are gathered to Christ being passed over).
Back to Joel 1,
(Joel 1:9-12) "The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD'S ministers, mourn.
10The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
(The new wine = Christ. Corn = grain. a little leaven (doctrine) ruins the whole lump where all is gone to waste. The field = the world all the spiritual produce here).
11Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
12The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men."
(All of it. Every fruit God uses here. Missing nothing, all throughout the Bible. They have no fruits of the spirit which begin at the forgiveness of sins towards the Lord, then others).
(The field = the world, as they are harvested out of season we just went over in Mark 13:18. The parable of the fig tree they do not know. The vine the origin, there is nothing left, out of time).
Okay, for length sake we'll keep it there. Please take a deeper look. When you beginning to be sealed knowing the events in order the confusion ends.
