Matthew 5:6. Thank you for taking a look †
Almost meal time. If Christ were standing out hungry would you invite Him in to sup with you?
Chow time my friend...
Let's first set the table...
(Matthew 5:6) "Blessed (happy) are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."
Filled (satisfied/contentment) to be filled with food. This will cover all food references Christ gives us in the Gospel, all throughout the Old Testament of course. As that is where from Christ is teaching.
Eating and drinking Holy Spiritually here. Hunger = Bread of life. Meat of the Word. Thirst = Living water that Christ gives. Therefore we must draw (dig) deep. John 4 (chapter 7 as well), verse 14 overall here. Milk = Doctrine that is salvation or directly pertains to the salvation message. What one will do as a result.
What else did Christ command us to drink spiritually? His blood of course, the wine. In the end, the blood of the cross you have to take it in, let it sit there, stomach it, digest it. Nothing better has ever did a body of Good. for God and then self. Your own body, outward to the body of Christ.
So, Christ giving us that simple relation between many things what we look over, taking for granted, because of the lusts of the flesh. Transferring it over from physical to Spiritual--the Holy Spiritual. You have heard it said, "slow down in life, get out of the world", "The Bible is simple", Christ teaches in simplicity", etc. etc. YES! This is why. The simple things in life, then being able to enjoy the simple things in life. Once again, not caught up in the "rat race." Hopping around like a bunny.
The Samaritan women near Jacob's well.
(John 14:4) "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
Springing up, that is the foundation. From the very depth of the insides deeply rooted in the pit of stomach we can feel physically to the soul (one's self). From there radiating to the rest of the body, spiritual body to physical body. From the deepest depths. Everyone can relate to that. Christ knows it.
A competition where one has been to the place they dug extra special deep. Demanded more out of themselves. Likewise, and how much more with the LORD?
After accomplishing that we temporarily felt better ourselves. Likewise here, and how much more with the LORD? Feeling better comes from being right with the Father through Christ and doing right for the Father through and for Christ. Finding your worth in Him first, not in man.
How much more with the LORD? He answers it in the verse. Filled. Imagine eating your favorite meal, your favorite drink to go with, then laying back and relaxing/resting (how He wants our soul and spirit to feel everyday, through faith). Not overeating as well, where one is miserable.
Amen †
